The wonderful world of sports is usually limited to the best known, seen or played sports. But if you take a closer look at some of the lesser known but true sports in the world, you will either say "unbelievable" or "I do not believe it". The sports mentioned here are some of the most unusual, strangest and most bizarre sports played around the world, and to say that they are gaining in popularity could simply be wrong. Are you funny and exciting? Well, that's for you to really decide. Ready for something you would never expect? Let's do it.
Listed below are the top 10 unconventional and most bizarre sports played around the world.
0th Underwater Hockey
This might be hard to understand, but only picture hockey played underwater. Easy? Good, according to viewers, not so much. Just like field hockey, ice hockey or air hockey, the goal is to use a stick (or a paddle in the case of air hockey) to hit a puck or ball into the opponent's goal. Since it is played under water, the sport is called by participants Octopush. The teams consist of 6 players and are surprisingly very common around the world, although a large crowd is virtually impossible because the pitch or the pool is more accurate.
. 9 Bossaball – the coolest acrobatic game
This sport originated in Spain and is slowly gaining popularity. It's definitely a sport for the adrenaline-loving athlete. Based on the concept of sports volleyball, the rules of bossaball are similar except for a part where a trampoline is involved. The players jump and kick or hit the ball across the net into the opposing field. There are 3 to 5 players in each team and one point is awarded when the ball touches the ground. It is an energetic sport that requires a lot of stamina and athleticism or just a very jumping trampoline. Either way, fun to see and try. Woman wears – the most outrageous sports
This is definitely one of the weirdest and most bizarre sports in the world. Women's wear has its roots in Finland (where else?), Where the men in no time wear their women through obstacle courses. The funny thing is, most women are just as capable of carrying their men through the class. The winner wins the weight of his wife's beer. What better price for a loving, strong husband? I think they should enter the sport at the Olympics. What is your opinion? See also; Top 10 hardest sports to play.
. 7 Dog surfing – the most bizarre sports
When we say that a dog is a man's best friend, we did not realize how deep that really went. For all surfing enthusiasts there is a sport here that you can share with your favorite furry friend. Dog Surfing is something that has captured itself as exciting and "way too cute" sport. It started in San Diego and spread over most parts of America and is also very common in Australia. What is the goal of this sport? As easy as training your dog, staying upright on a surfboard while catching waves. There are many contests that take place every year in California and they attract crowds from everywhere. Our only wish is that the price is not just a bitch.
. 6 Unicycle Polo
Probably one of the funniest, even the most bizarre sports. Unicycle Polo is something of a bad nightmare. Imagine the refined sport of horse polo and replace the horses with hilarious, balanced unicycle bikes. The sport has exactly the same rules as Polo, but trust me, it's much harder. The goal is to use the mallet to hit the ball into the opponent's goal, keeping the balance in the cycle. It is definitely worth something, especially if someone is in a bad mood. It will bring them a smile in a few minutes, guaranteed by the participants of the sport.
. 5 Caber Toss
Caber Toss is one of the oldest, lesser known and most bizarre sports in the world. She comes from breathtaking Scotland. And if we are already breathtaking on the topic, how about big wooden posts over a certain distance? Yes, the Scott's have found a way to turn logs into something competitive and fun. The goal of the sport is not really to throw the logs further, but to land the tip of the tree trunk near the person who throws it. If that's not good enough for you, imagine that. All participants must wear a kilt. Well, basically it's a group of men in skirts who upset big tree trunks. Interesting?
. 4 Chess Boxing – The Bizarre Sport
This is a sport that is a perfect mash-up of brains and muscles. The participants must be experienced both in chess and in boxing, because as the name implies, this sport includes both games. There are alternating rounds of chess and boxing that allow the inner boxer to take a break and recover as he exercises his mind to try to play his opponent with a checkmate instead of a top right-hand cut. People like the sport because it's not just about brutality, it's about boring, slow moves. It's a perfect marriage. Whoever thought it, there is only one word – genius.
. 3 Cheese rolls
Food has played a role in some sports or competitions for thousands of years and that's not very different. Cheese rolls have been around for over 200 years and are still practiced today. During spring bank holiday in England, people gather on the summit of Cooper's Hill and prepare for something very exciting. On the surprisingly steep hill, a judge rolls a round of cheese down the slope and the participants follow. People try to run down the slope, but predictably roll or slide like the cheese. The winner of the race wins the round of cheese as well as a few bruises and scars and if they are lucky, maybe one or two broken bones.
. 2 Blind Soccer
There are millions of people around the world who follow the fast-paced sport of football and the numbers continue to grow. It is a widely pursued sport that people have seized without the ability to see and do well. Blind Soccer is a sport that encourages disabled people to step out of their comfort zone and explore something that the whole world is participating in. It's almost like normal football, except for the ball filled with pebbles or marbles, find it and the only people who have the ability to see are the goalies. All in all a very exciting sport to participate in.
. 1 Ferret Legging
We have reached the end of this somewhat elusive list and end it with a bang (or bite). That's hands down, the most bizarre sports I've ever encountered. Ferret Legging is actually a sport and has been around the world for many years. It's basically a sport to show the man in, but he could change the male part in a few minutes. The idea is to tie the pants at the ankles so that there is no escape route and let two ferrets fall into their pants.
The person with the longest time wins. Sounds ridiculous? But it is at the same time, a man named Reg Mellor holds the world record time for this sport outside the world. He set an unheard of time of 5 hours and 30 minutes in 1981. His secret was that he made sure he fed the ferrets before putting them in his pants.
