The 2020 Olympic Torch Relay recently started in the same place it always did: Greece, where men once developed elaborate competitions as an excuse for naked wrestling and now use it as an excuse to serve ads that us should make believe the best athletes in the world eat Double Quarter Pounders before a big race.
The torch had finally made it to Japan, where the Olympic Games were just around the corner in July. The Japanese leg of the season should not begin until March 26, where it would have found its way from Fukushima to Tokyo on July 24 (two cities that shine with an inviting neon light for various reasons). That was the plan. Instead, the torch reached the Japanese coasts just in time … so that the International Olympic Committee decides to postpone the games until 2021
