During the football season, the NFL quarterbacks are under a lot of pressure every week as millions tune in to see how they try to lead their teams to victory – or at least avoid being blamed for bad passes. It's not an easy task, but at least it pays off well.
To find out how well AT&T analyzed the salaries and seasons of all quarterbacks of the 2018 NFL season. Even if you knew you were raking up a pile of cash for every second you spent in the field, you might not have known how much.
If you're looking for ways to despise Tom Brady, here's one: he makes about $ 1.5 million for every hour of play. However, as any New England Patriots fan will tell you, Brady is far from the league's highest-earning quarterback, and he has accepted lower base salaries throughout his career, so the Patriots spent that extra money building a championship winning team can use around it.
San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (49) beats Tom Brady and every other quarterback million times over when it comes to season receipts ̵
One reason Garoppolo has outperformed his peers so spectacularly is that his overall playing time for the 2018 season was much less than anyone else, otherwise he suffered a knee injury in the third game of the season. In this study, All Home Connections added the total number of snaps from each quarterback and multiplied them by the average seconds per game of the violation in question to estimate the total playing time. Then they divided that number by the quarterback's salary for 2018. Since Garoppolo's total playing time was only about 1.5 hours, he got more money for his bang. By comparison, Brady spent about 10 hours of play in 2018.
