The fourth season production of Netflix’s successful science fiction series Stranger Things may be interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic, but that didn’t stop die-hard fans from theorizing what could happen in the series returns.
How many other children did Hawkins Lab experiment with? Has the gate to the upside down been finally closed? Did Robin and Steve get jobs in the video business? Only time will tell, but here are some things we sure know about the next season. Obviously there are * spoilers * for all broadcast episodes of Stranger Things in abundance.
1. Hopper is alive!
Netflix released the first teaser for the fourth season of Stranger Things on Valentine's Day, confirming what many fans had hoped for since season three ended: Chief Hopper is alive! Last season's post-credits scene led viewers into a Russian prison where a prison guard refers to an American prisoner before feeding another very unfortunate prisoner to the Demogorgon. At that moment, fans hoped that Hopper had somehow survived the explosion that closed the gate to the upside down, and the video confirmed the suspicion that Hopper was actually alive. However, it seems that he is locked up in some kind of labor camp, and we still have to learn how his plot will reconnect with the rest of the characters.
2. We'll learn more about Hopper's past.
During a panel at Comic Con Liverpool, David Harbor told fans that the next season of Stranger Things will reveal his character's past secrets. He said, "In season 2, Eleven goes to the basement of the cabin and there are five boxes, one of which contains items from Hawkins Lab, one of which says" Dad ", one says" Vietnam " 39 ;, one says & # 39; New York & # 39; … so there are three things we have established in this scene and if they don't pay off it means that [the Duffer Brothers] are bad writers. .. I know specifically that in season 4 we will give you a big, huge reveal about Hopper's backstory. "
3. A minor character could return.
In March, Netflix released a video showing the cast of Stranger Things which was assembled for a Season 4 table video Ross Partridge . If this name doesn't appear familiar, he's the actor who plays Lonnie Byers, Joyce's estranged ex-husband and her sons' absent father. Lonnie hasn't performed since season one, so it will be interesting to find out why he came back.
4. Parts of the fourth season were filmed in New Mexico.
According to Collider, parts of the fourth season of Stranger Things were shot in New Mexico. The relocation makes sense, because at the end of the third season the Byers family moved with Eleven von Hawkins. Stranger Things takes place in Indiana, but is mainly filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. Therefore, New Mexico may just be a new location and not the new fictional backdrop. Still wondering where Joyce, Will, Jonathan and Eleven will go and how this affects the dynamics between the characters left in Hawkins.
5. Stranger Things will soon become much more "scary".
Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington, recently spoke to Total Film about the upcoming season of Stranger Things . "Oh man, it's pretty amazing – the Duffer brothers really did it again," said Keery. "I think this year – and I know I say that every year – but it will definitely be a lot more scary than in previous years because last year was pretty dark."
