Artist duos are not a rare phenomenon in the art world. Such a formation gives them the perfect opportunity to reconsider their individual points of view and construct something new through dialogue. One of the world's leading artist duo in the field of sculpture is definitely Elmgreen & Dragset .

Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset began a collaboration in the mid-1990s by a critically charged and humorous reinterpretation of traditional sculptural language. Her practice may be perceived as a hybrid because of her specific approach, which is rooted in performativity . The duo obtained, according to location information, such as the forever closed Prada boutique in the West Texas desert, the works presented at the 2009 Venice Biennale in the Danish and Nordic pavilions, or the huge swimming pool by Van Gogh's Ear in the state of Texas Rockefeller Plaza in 201

This fall, Elmgreen & Dragset will receive the first overview of their US practice at Nasher Sculpture Center . It will provide new analyzes of their domains, especially in the context of the use and organization of public space.

Elmgreen & Dragset: Sculptures at Nasher Sculpture Center

This exhibition will also reveal the extraordinary embrace of the duo of multiples Working Methods and Aesthetics the presence of postminimalistic tendencies, conceptual strategies and the tradition of figurative sculpture show. It will also look at a number of the main issues involved in their work, which relate to sexuality, institutional structures, youth and aging and public issues.

The exhibition will include early Elmgreen & Dragset sculptures along with recent works that were created for this survey. Some of the highlights will be replayed versions of traces of a never-existing history / powerless structures . 222 as well as the fourth edition of their Diaries series of permanent performances.

A catalog fully illustrated will accompany the exhibition; It will be the first publication dedicated exclusively to their practice, with an introduction by Dr. Ing. Leigh Arnold and some scientific essays.

Elmgreen & Dragset: Sculptures will be on display at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Texas, from September 14, 2019 to January 5, 2020 .
