Modern Jews are the Pharisees of the Bible

But woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut the kingdom of heaven against the people, you do not enter yourself. and those who go in suffer from not entering. "- Jesus Christ

In a nutshell

Modern Jews are Pharisees. The Pharisees were a large and beloved sect of Second Temple Jews who believed in the Talmud (particularly delicate Old Testament laws), which formed the basis of the fall of the temple shortly after the death of Christ of modern Judaism. Traditional Judaism was led by priests; Pharisaic Judaism was led by rabbis.

The whole bushel

Jesus undoubtedly condemned the Pharisees: "[The Pharisees] Love the first places at festivals and to name the first chairs in the synagogues and greetings in the market and by men, Rabbi . [ . . . ] But woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut the kingdom of heaven against the people, you do not enter yourself. and those who go in suffer from not entering. [ . . . ] Woe to you blind leaders who say, Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the temple's gold is a debtor.

It is not often discussed today, but after the fall of the temple, Judaism split and spread throughout the world. But the Pharisees were the binding force for the Jews after the death of the priesthood (priests were the hierarchy of Judaism, but without temples ̵

1; and thus without animal sacrifices – the priests disappeared).

The Jewish Bible was primarily the Old Testament scriptures of Moses. The first Jews used these books of law and history as founding documents of their faith. But over time, a group of Jews began to extrapolate their meaning and made a great commentary called the Talmud. The Talmud took the basic laws and expanded them. Over time, a religion developed that was very different from Abrahamic Judaism. It made a religion much stricter.

When Jesus was born, the Pharisees controlled Judaism. It was their laws forbidding Jews to touch a finger on the Sabbath (including helping someone). This was the message behind Christ's parable of the Good Samaritan. The Pharisees would not help the Samaritan (another Jewish sect) because they would break their own law of not working on the Sabbath. Christ said that the law can be broken if it serves the betterment of man (or "a man" in the case of this parable). In other words, Christ rejected a harsh approach that accused religion of being compassionate.

Modern Judaism is practically Pharisaic (the non-Pharisees, like the Samaritans still living in Palestine, are still despised by other members of the Jewish faith) and are shrinking in number). Wikipedia sums it up very succinctly: "After the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 [A.D.]Pharisaic faith became the liturgical and ritual foundation of rabbinic Judaism, ultimately leading to normative traditional Judaism, which formed the basis for is. all contemporary forms of Judaism with the exception of Karaite Judaism [and Samaritan Judaism]. "

It is the Law of the Pharisees, the Talmud, which demands that Jews swing live chickens over their heads to physically rid their sins and the rabbis. Chew off the foreskin of boys for circumcision (which sometimes leads to the death of the Children leads). None of these practices exist in the Bible or Christian Judaism.
