Tablets are designed to make life more comfortable: they can take notes, play games and surf the internet from a laptop-sized device. But even in the digital age, some people have difficulty letting go of the old sense of pen and paper. With E-PAD, a new e-ink android tablet, you do not have to choose between one or the other.
The E-PAD e-ink tablet was released on Kickstarter on March 26, and with just over one in the crowdfunding campaign last week, over $ 340,000 has been raised. The WiFi-connected and 4G-compatible gadget has the same features as a traditional tablet, allowing you to play music, read e-books, and send e-mail. However, if you want to sketch or write something, E-PAD offers something that most tablets can not.
Using your finger or stylus, you can treat E-PAD like a real paper notebook. The glare-free surface of the screen mimics the texture of the paper and gives you the same friction you would get when scribbling something on a page. The display is sensitive enough to detect the pressure of your hand and adjust the pen movements accordingly. Whether you write a to-do list, sign your name or draw a self-portrait, the device translates your unique style into a digital document.
Writing in an E-PAD also has some advantages over using a notebook. If you make a mistake, you can undo it just like in a word processor ̵
The E-PAD is available for 699 euros, but currently available on Kickstarter 449 US dollars. You can now promise the campaign to get it in August of this year.
