Singapore-born artist Lakshmi Mohanbabu studied art, architecture, jewelery and design around the world and has managed to incorporate intercultural elements into her work. She skilfully switches between techniques and media and shows a real passion for art as such.
The Piece Screeching – Strident Cry dates from her Expression Series inspired by the Chinese Opera and the Japanese Kabuki Theater. In this series, the artist explores a wealth of complementary emotions executed in a unique precision of the painting style with acrylic on paper. Most facial outlines were eliminated with an approach to minimalism.
