The artist living in Luxembourg Joachim van der Vlugt creates works that are mainly inspired by the classic Dutch and Flemish masters. He takes the two traditional registers of landscape and portrait and mixes them around. He is one of the founding members of the artist collective Sixthfloor in Koerich, Luxembourg. rendered in a voluntarily limited color palette, black and white, brown, beige and blue. After highlighting the nuances and intensity of the light, the artist integrates various shapes and geometrical shapes into his canvas.
