6 tips to protect yourself during the COVID-19 pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic hit the world in a matter of months and changed the lives of millions of people. It’s a noxious disease that couldn’t be cured, even though scientists are already planning a vaccine. People have tried their best to escape the risk of infection by following many rules. They have also been banned to minimize the spread of disease. However, the danger is not over yet, so we still need to protect ourselves with the following useful tips.

1. Social distance

When it comes to avoiding a contagious disease, social distancing is probably the best way to protect yourself, but also others. You should be able to keep your distance from others regardless of where you are. It is also important to avoid crowded places and public areas and to minimize human interactions so that you can limit the risk of contracting the coronavirus.

2. Wear face masks

The most important access points to the coronavirus are mouth and nose. So you should protect them well. If the virus is (unfortunately) already present, it is more important to avoid spreading it by simply breathing. Buy organic face masks to avoid inhaling and exhaling the virus so you and others are safe around. Also, do not touch your mask with dirty hands, as this could be even more dangerous to your health.

3. Wash your hands regularly

COVID-19 can be a deadly virus (in some cases) but weakens before hygiene products. Washing your hands regularly and using a hand sanitizer can help fight corona in the long run. Avoid touching your face with dirty hands, especially in public places. Wash your hands as often as possible every day for at least 20 seconds.

4. Cover coughs and sneezes

Coughing and sneezing without being sick are not new. Since coughing and sneezing are signs of coronavirus disease, it is best to cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. Use a napkin when you sneeze and throw it in the trash can. If you don’t have a napkin nearby, bend your elbow and sneeze right there. They eliminate the chance of spreading droplets that could transmit the virus.

5. Keep your surfaces clean

When you buy products in the supermarket or elsewhere, you don’t know how many people have touched them and not all people are as careful and hygienic as you are. Therefore, whenever possible, make sure that you properly disinfect your hands. After returning from shopping, clean all of your products before putting them in the refrigerator. As a quick tip, note that the virus does not live on a surface for more than 24 hours. But make sure you clean all of the surfaces of your homes. You can use professional grade products to do the trick, or use regular soap and water.

6. Isolate if necessary

If you have any of the COVID-19 symptoms, take steps to protect yourself and others around you. If you find that you’ve been in contact with someone who carries the virus, make sure to isolate yourself for two weeks, even if you don’t have any symptoms. During this time, you will see if symptoms appear. Always remember to protect yourself and your loved ones as it is better to avoid the virus than to treat it!
