Statistically speaking, it is much more likely that a man will commit serial killings. But that doesn't mean that women never become multiple killers. Throughout history, cruel crimes have been committed by women. All over the world, women have maliciously killed infants, other women and men. These are the stories of some incredible serial killers.
Dorothea Puente . Sacramento, California . Puente was also known as the "Death House Landlady" because of her crimes and ran a pension in the 1980s. When one of her boarding school students was missing, murder detectives examined the house. They soon discovered seven bodies in the back yard of 59-year-old Puente. She was on the run for four days before detectives found her at a Los Angeles motel. Prosecutors suspect that she poisoned her tenants to get her social security coverage, and made nearly $ 5,000 a month. ( Source )
Genene Jones . San Antonio, Texas . Authorities believe Jones is responsible for the deaths of over 60 infants she cares for at Bexar County Hospital. She worked at the children's ward as a licensed professional nurse (LVN). There is no way to determine the exact number of their victims. After hearing about their actions, the hospital administrators destroyed the records of the infants they murdered. Fearing parents' lawsuits, they fired all of the LVN staff at the hospital instead of handing in Jones. She left San Antonio to work in a children's clinic in nearby Kerrville, Texas. There she was arrested by detectives after a failed attempt to murder. She was brought to justice in 1985 and sentenced to 99 years. ( Source )
Miyuki Ishikawa . Tokyo, Japan . In the 1940s, Ishikawa worked as a midwife in the Kotobuki maternity hospital. It is believed that she killed between 103 and 169 infants in her care through neglect. Ishikawa claimed that she was doing both the infants and the parents a favor because many of their patients were poor and may not be able to look after the children. Once she asked the parents for payments to kill their children. In the end, she was only in prison for 4 years, her defense accused the parents of leaving the children in her care. ( Source )
