4 MCU Easter Eggs That Deserve Their Own Movie

Ant-Man: Journey to the center of the quantum realm

If you’ve never seen Ant man and the wasp (or Ant man), do that. Not just because you know what the hell we’re talking about, but because it’s a really good movie. It’s a fun and airy MCU episode – which looks just as good as it has since been released Avengers: Thanos kills all of your favorites and Avengers: Jon Favreau talking about cheeseburgers is going to break you.

It’s also great because it features one of the most subtle Easter eggs in the franchise – one that might spell out not only where Ant-Man is going, but the entire MCU as well.

Towards the end of the film, Hank Pym sets out to save his long-missing wife / OG Wasp, Janet van Dyne, from the quantum realm. It’s a subatomic dimension where time and space don’t matter, terrible alien creatures go wild, and anyone trapped there is destined to die without ever seeing another soul … unless him trips over it the full city that someone clearly built.

This city, only visible on screen for a split second, explains to a large extent how Janet managed to survive her decade-long sabbatical year without going insane. Plus how she developed a) the technology to talk to the creatures of the realm, and b) superpowers – for these seem like something it takes to build a city in a lifeless, timeless, psychedelic infinity prison.
